Golden Ratio Face Calculator

Measure selected photo ratios against 1.618 and a one-eye-width reference. Each value, reference and difference is shown so the result remains inspectable.

Compare visible ratios

This calculator runs locally and reports mathematical proximity—not attractiveness or personal worth.

Before you analyze

  • 1Use your own photo, or one you have permission to use.
  • 2One adult face only. No minors or age estimation.
  • 3Results describe this photo, not objective beauty or health.

A typical first run loads about 15 MB of model/runtime files, then the browser caches them. Nothing is submitted to our analysis API.

Local mode: the selected image and detected landmarks are held in page memory only and are cleared when you reset or leave.

Adjust the face area

Keep one full face inside the oval. Leave the hairline and chin visible, with a little space around the head.

For more reliable detection

  • • Select only one adult when the photo contains several people.
  • • Avoid cutting through the forehead, chin or either side of the face.
  • • Cropping helps framing, but cannot restore blur or very low resolution.

The crop is created in this browser and is never uploaded.

What it measures

Evidence behind this result

The output is built from inspectable photo geometry and a separate image-quality signal.

01

Phi comparisons

Checks face-to-cheek, mouth-to-nose and cheek-to-mouth relationships against 1.618.

02

Classical spacing

Shows inter-eye spacing relative to average visible eye width.

03

Per-ratio difference

Keeps every input visible rather than presenting an unexplained golden score.

How this tool works

01

Locate

The model detects contour, eye, nose and mouth landmarks in the browser.

02

Divide

Distances are converted to scale-independent ratios in image-pixel coordinates.

03

Compare

Log-distance from each reference becomes a proximity value for easy inspection.

What the result cannot tell you

01

Phi is a mathematical reference, not a scientifically universal definition of beauty.

02

Different publications select different facial landmarks and ratio definitions.

03

Perspective, expression and landmark visibility can shift the measured values.

About this tool

How local processing works →
Does a higher golden-ratio result mean more attractive?+

No. It only means the selected two-dimensional measurements are numerically closer to the listed references.

Why is eye spacing compared with 1.0 instead of 1.618?+

The classical facial-fifths reference describes an eye gap of roughly one visible eye width, so the page labels that separate reference directly.

Are photos sent to a server?+

No. This calculator runs its face landmark model and ratio calculations in your browser.
